Hi, I'm Marcia. I help people restore health and confidence.
Change can start at any time - no matter what may lie in the path. As a former nurse, I have always appreciated how people possess resilience to transform have pain into hope and recovery. My work in both inpatient and outpatient settings has given me a unique understanding of how relapses and setbacks are part of the change process. I am here to guide you through the challenge of your current circumstances.
I believe that a compassionate relationship is key to healing. With 15 years of experience counseling people who struggle with problem drinking, addiction, depression, and anxiety, I have found that resilience begins with a caring relationship. By creating a strong foundation, we will illuminate the path to having the life you deserve to live.
On Being a Counselor
You are capable of transformational change. Whether you are new to counseling or have been in and out of treatment for several years, I am here to ensure you receive the highest quality of care. I am passionate about helping people who have struggled to find the true path of healing.
If you have experienced multiple types of treatment with no results, it is likely that the treatment did not illuminate your inner resilience. Too many people enter into programs that demand they fit a specific mold, which inevitably leads to treatment failure (and you believing that "you" are a failure).
Trauma recovery counseling is different. Our work starts with where you are in your change process. You deserve the best possible care available. Through a compassionate relationship, I am here to help you discover inner peace, calm, and purpose.
I began my career as a nurse, where I helped people from all age groups and diverse backgrounds heal from minor injuries and multiple complex comorbidities. This work revealed how important the client/provider relationship is when it comes to achieving effective outcomes. Long-lasting healing begins with a caring relationship.
This led me to a career change. I received my graduate training as a counselor, followed by a doctorate. Since then, I have come to appreciate how powerful the client/therapist alliance can be.
Today, I use my experience as a nurse and counselor to help people move through complex problems. I offer video counseling to those who face barriers to office based care. Whether my client is someone who is struggling with a chronic medical condition or someone who has struggled with managing multiple disorders, I partner with my clients to develop tangible steps forward. If you are struggling with depression, anxiety, traumatic stress, or self-destructive habits, I am here to help you heal.
