On Being a Counselor
I believe people are amazingly resourceful when it comes to dealing with disruptions in their lives but sometimes the ways we cope can work against the things we want. Healthy living is about bringing things into balance and I am here to leverage my experience and education toward that end. .
With proven strategies in healthy lifestyle creation that draws from a variety of therapeutic modalities and close to twenty-years of supporting clients I will collaborate with you toward achieving your goals.
I am passionate about supporting people that want healthier, more balanced lifestyles and providing the tools and strategies that allow them to make that happen.
Therapy is a second career for me. I went back to school when I recognized that the personal training clients I was working with could really benefit from a deeper level of service. I saw people that were really struggling in their lives because of their relationships to food and alcohol which they were using to cope with other issues. From this I developed a philosophy that draws from these experiences and I believe that anyone is capable of change when they are given the correct strategies with the proper support.
I continue to be inspired by individuals looking to really improve their lives. Therapy has allowed me to be a part of that process and provide support in key areas that help others break through barriers toward the improvement they want for themselves. I also offer goal-oriented coaching to help people create the lives they want to love.
Whether you are worried about your loved one's video game behavior or looking to optimize your personal health, I am here to help you achieve your goals. You can start on a path of health and wellness today. Call (312) 715-8234,or email [email protected] to schedule your first appointment.

Matt as a Person
I was born in Chicago, but spent my childhood in different parts of the country. After putting myself through college working in healthcare (anesthesiology technician, emergency room support staff, and pharmaceutical sales) I moved back to Chicago, where I started my personal training business. I'm a big fan of the city! I spend my weekends exploring new restaurants and attending Chicago events. My interest in photography brings me into contact with the people and architecture that make Chicago so vibrant. You wont' be surprised to hear that I'm a gym rat who enjoys working out as my main source of self-care. My investment in the Chicago fitness community leads me to all of the gyms and studios around town. I enjoy spending my free time hosting my wellness podcast, public speaking, and running obstacle races, mud runs, 5Ks, and half-marathons.
